What is the PADI Advanced Open Water course?
Despite the name, the Advanced Open Water course is designed for divers who have only recently certified. You do not need dozens of logged dives to begin. The course is built around five adventure dives completed over roughly two days, each one introducing a new skill or environment under direct instructor supervision. Two dives are required: a Deep dive, which takes you beyond your initial depth limit toward 30 metres, and an Underwater Navigation dive, which sharpens your compass and natural navigation skills. The remaining three are yours to choose.
